Omaha, NE - A Nebraska cornfield sets the stage for "The Wretched." Director Daniel Iske tells Action 3 News the horror film was shot in the summer of 2007 on a farm near Gretna. The award-winner is making the circuit at festivals around the country, but Iske admits competition is tough.

Daniel Iske: "The cons are you're away from the coasts, you're away from a lot of money, some of the talent. At the same time, I think the pros are the same as the cons."

Now, Iske is taking advantage of the pros, pushing the cornstalks aside and opening his talent to a larger audience online.

Daniel Iske: "People say 'Can't anyone put a show on the web? Won't your competition be millions of people?' Sure, that might be a little hard to get through the noise of a lot of people making a show that's not good. Any kind of good material will always reach an audience in some way."

Iske believes the future of filmmaking is online. Web series like "Little Ninjai" prove Iske's idea will work. "Little Ninjai" is only seen online. A new episode is released to a growing audience every week. Iske has two web series in the works called "Dead Hour" and "Semesters." Both shows will be shot in Omaha for the world to see.
